Market Day ~ August 1st

Greetings!

Last week was an amazing market overflowing with all of what makes Oregon the best place to live. Tomatoes, cherries, strawberries, blueberries, carrots, lettuce, zucchini, buffalo, cheese, home-made dog biscuits, cookies, German bread, flowers…this is the best time of year don’t miss out!
The forecast for “This weeks” IFM predicts even better weather with 85 plus temps and plenty of sun. So be sure to stock up the raspberries, strawberries and blueberries to get your fall preserving started!! Plus tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini and fresh and ready to eat or preserve as well!

My wife has been a jamming fool at our house!! On this Saturday alone she made 5 pints of raspberry jam, 10 pints of blueberry, 2 pints of brandied cherries, 2 pints of spicy dills and she even made 3 loaves of zucchini bread which we wrapped up tight and put directly into the freezer for later eating. Safe to say she is setting us up for a great fall! Thanks Honey!!

See you at the Market!

Market Day ~ July 25th, 2007

Farmers market Pic

This week at IFM is slated to be the perfect Oregon weather - the forecast is calling for 80 degrees & partly cloudy!
We welcome back Creative Growers, Nonna’s Noodles and Por a Que No? Taqueria after an unexpected week off due to rain.   Keep an eye out for peaches, nectarines, blueberries and raspberries, which are all in good supply so you can start preserving.  Also, meats, wild salmon, buffalo, long horn beef and wild boar will be on hand.  Plus, fresh bread from Fressen or Dave’s Killer Bread is available and goes great with some Crabapple Companies hummus or some of Dante’s pesto.  Or just grab a brownie or cookie from the Brownie Farm sit in the park and be glad that you live in Oregon.

Oh, if you haven’t had a pulled pork sandwich from U-licious Smokehouse, you’ve been missing out!

Market Day ~ July 18th, 2007

This week at IFM we will get a break from the blistering heat with some cool summer drizzle.  The lower temperatures remind us to slow down, take notice of what is important and how much everything has grown and bloomed.  The first peaches and nectarines of the summer appeared last week. We’re also starting to see tomatoes, loganberries and boysenberries.  I’m sure there will be even more after those 100 degree days!

Vendor In and Outs!

In:
Herr Family Farms cut flowers are back this week after recovering from a bad car accident.  Also the kids from Trillium Charter School make another appearance with herbs, flowers and homemade bath and body products.
Out:
Barker Bones takes the week off for a little R and D at a trade show and I think some R and R as well.  They will be back on the 25th!

John Twist’s music will be here again from 3:30 Pm – 6:30 Pm

See you at the Market!

Market Day ~ July 11th, 2007

We’re Back!!!  July 11th, 2007!

Hope you all had a great 4th of July Holiday!  I got out of town and headed to beautiful Sandpoint Idaho for a wedding.  While I was there I paid a to Sanpoint’s farmers market and see just how the Inland Northwest is “actively supporting and participating in locally owned and operated food and farm enterprises.”
