Market Day ~ Last Market Day - Wed, Sept 24

Thank you for a wonderful IFM Season!

Tomorrow, Wed, Sept 24 is the last market of the IFM Season, so bring your bags, friends and appetite to enjoy the goodness that IFM vendors have to offer!

We’ll be celebrating the end of the season with our vendors, volunteers and IFM Board Members… Please share in our celebration and don’t let the threat of rain scare you away (you’ll be kicking yourself all through October)!  This is the time to buy your last case of peaches or berries to can or make into pies!!!

Harvest of fruits and veggies from local farms include: corn, green beans, broccoli, cabbage, chard, squash, potatoes, onions, blackberries, kale, basil, peaches, nectarines, strawberries, blueberries, watermelons, cantaloupes, lettuce, chard, zucchini, mushrooms and more are available this week from our farmers.

Cheesecake, honey, buffalo (and other meats), pesto, gluten-free pastries, toast bread and bagels, salmon and more are available from our vendors who have come to the 2008 market all season.  Also, come enjoy pizza, tamales, barbeque and vegetable curry from our prepared foods vendors.

As the season winds down, we will be planning for 2009.  Please send me your suggestions for how to make the market better and get involved!

This weeks’ entertainment:
Kate Mann
Strong acoustic guitar arrangements with slide guitar, harmonica, rumbling drums, accordion and classical guitar sounds to conjure images of gypsy caravans and moonlit nights. A southwestern journey of the nighttime world with snapshots of love lost and dangerous encounters.

Volunteers feed the market…
We need help to make this market come to the community each week.  Volunteers work 2-3 hour shifts between 3:00 - 8:00 pm and we could really use a few people to help with set-up from 12:00 - 3:00 pm and breakdown from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.

Please check out the volunteer shifts below and contact me today!

Market Day ~ The End is Near… 2 more markets left in 2008 IFM Season

Tomatoes, basil and cheese has been one of my favorite appetizers during these past few warm summer days.  The tomatoes have been so juicy and the basil fills the kitchen with such an amazing aroma!  The combo is a late summer treat!  Can’t wait for my next bite…

Come to t
he market this week and next for the harvest of great fruits and veggies from local farms: corn, green beans, broccoli, cabbage, chard, squash, potatoes, onions, blackberries, kale, basil, peaches, nectarines, strawberries, blueberries, watermelons, cantaloupes, lettuce, chard, zucchini, mushrooms and more are available this week from our farmers.

We’ll have music and shade under the trees to enjoy the lovely Wednesday afternoon.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to share the harvest time with your friends, neighbors and family.  The IFM Season ends with the Sept. 24 market, so don’t miss out on buying some of the freshest, most delicious foods you can get in your neighborhood!

As the season winds down, we will be planning for 2009.  Please send me your suggestions for how to make the market better and get involved!
