The Interstate Farmers Market is loaded with veggies, berries, corn, potatoes, melons, tomatoes, peppers, peaches.  School has started but summer is still upon us!  This week, the weather is predicted to be 88 and sunny!

The Master Recyclers are back this week. Did you know that Americans generate 1.6 million tons of household hazardous waste a year? Market Day ~ August 15, 2007

Wow!  That’s all I could think of to describe IFM last week.  The season is certainly in full swing now with peaches, cherry tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, corn, walla walla onions, garlic, potatoes, lettuce, romaine, cherries, blueberries, strawberries, wild salmon, Rogue cheese, cookies, brownies, and much, much more!

Plus kids: we’ve had the kids from The Peninsula Children’s Center coming on field trips over the last few weeks.   Here is a picture that I feel sums up how everyone was feeling last week.

Going to the Dogs:
Barkers Bones is changing names to become Happy Barkers!!  They will now feature all their fresh made, natural dog bones in both REGULAR and BITE size for all of your four legged pals!

Garlic lovers?
For all of you garlic lovers, make sure to stop by Mulino Valley Farm’s booth and check out six varieties of heirloom garlic.   Anne has some amazing varieties for every application.

Market Day ~ August 8th, 2007

Greetings! 

Last week’s market was a cornucopia of produce, berries, kids and record 30 mph wind gusts and 90 degree temps.  Certainly kept everyone on their toes.  This week’s market predicts temps back down in the 70’s with the clouds giving us a much needed cool break.  So, if you didn’t get your summer canning started, then this is your golden opportunity with berries still in good supply.
And if you stop by the INFO booth this week we have some free travel alarm clocks to hand out, courtesy of Kaiser’s CHR department.
